That’s the title of the well-known song by André Crouch. The chorus lays out the thought:

Jesus is the answer for the world today;

Above Him there’s no other; Jesus is the way.

Many today would call it simplistic. I once created an advertising campaign for the church I served with the tagline: The only real answer is Jesus. I received negative feedback from pastors in other churches and denominations who wanted to make things more complicated. But I knew what our Lord had said.

When Jesus began speaking about heaven, His disciple Thomas admitted he didn’t know where the Lord was going or how to get there. The Lord gave him a simple, straightforward answer:

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6 NLT

My French friend Éric Célérier is a pastor and is one of the foremost Christian experts on AI. He has used technology for many years to impact lives. He was instrumental in creating the website jesus.net, which has been instrumental in millions coming to faith in Christ. Éric has now created a personal Bible study tool called HelloBible that uses AI to provide responses based on your faith journey. It is amazing. Yet Éric understands something fundamental to our Christian life and witness.

“Let us be clear:

Media does not save. Jesus saves.
Technology does not transform hearts. The Holy Spirit does.”

So how do we balance today’s technology with the simple truth from God’s Word? Once again, Éric Célérier gives insight:

“… media can carry the message.
And AI can make that message personal at an unprecedented scale.
Television allowed us to broadcast to millions.
AI now allows millions of people to receive a personal response.”

Yes, technology today provides new and exciting ways to share God’s Truth. That happened when the printing press was created, and the Bible could be put in everyone’s hands. It happened when traditional media–radio and television–spread the hope of Christ in a broader way to a mass audience. But we must not put our hope in technology, as great a tool as it is. We must come back to the simple truth and proclaim it loud and long:

Jesus is the answer for the world today.

Above Him there’s no other; Jesus is the way.
