I sat next to a giant of a man. His broad frame and commanding presence stood in stark contrast to his gentle, tender spirit. Though we had only met hours earlier, we were already bound together—brothers in Christ.
While we shared a common faith, this brother was born in a country were becoming a Christ follower isn’t tolerated. Being caught with a Bible is enough to be beaten or even killed.
I watched as he scrolled through photos and videos on his iPad. Not news reports. Not faceless headlines. These were his friends—men and women he knew—brutally persecuted for their faith. As the images flickered across the screen, tears rolled down his bearded face. His grief was real, raw, and close.
And yet, despite the risks, his passion to share the hope of Jesus burned undiminished.
It wasn’t until later that night, alone with my thoughts, that the weight of his story hit me. I realized how insulated I’ve been—living most of my life in a bubble of safety, assuming stories like this only belonged in the book of Acts.
But God used that day to renew my own passion for the life-changing message of Jesus. He reminded me why the mission of MEDIA Alliance International matters so deeply: to stand with brothers and sisters across the world, to equip them, and above all, to remind them that their work—and their sacrifices—are not in vain.
That’s where you come in.
Your prayers, your generosity, your partnership make it possible for MEDIA Alliance to encourage leaders like this brother. It allows us to give them tools and training, and to remind them they are not alone.
Will you stand with us—so that faithful servants in hard places can keep shining the light of Jesus?
